Psalms 36:7-9, “How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore, the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, and You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.”
If you read through the Bible, you will see one common thread. The common thread I am talking about is, God is the true source. He is the creator of the heavens and the earth. He can meet all our needs in a billion ways. All He asks for every time is for us to trust Him. He wants us to stand our ground and choose to believe His word. He tells us in His word that He has put His word above His name. This means the credibility of His name is tied to His word. If He said something, He would do it for His name’s sake.
One of the purposes of the stories you see in the bible is for them to convince us that God is a faithful God. That is why we are encouraged to meditate on the word so that our faith can be enticed.
This above verse echoes the same sentiment. I want to focus on the latter part of the bolded part. ‘…In His light we see light.’ This is an interesting picture. I am picturing God’s light and through His light we can see light. Light in the Bible usually means truth. So, we can say, within His truth, we see truth. What the verse is telling us is that we must receive a revelation of His truth first, for us to be able to see that truth. In the context of what we are talking about, we must first receive the revelation that He is our source before we see Him as our source.
You receive revelation by meditate on the truth you are seeking. Find scriptures that talk about Him being our source and meditate on them. Then Holy Spirit will quicken that word and it will become alive in you, then you see that truth.
