Let God be God

One of our biggest mistakes as Christians is not letting God be God. We see God through the limitations of our lives. In Psalms 78, we read a terrible report of the children of Israel. Verse 41 summarizes the whole chapter. Many Christians today treat God like the children of Israelite did.

Psalm 78:41, “Yes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.”

Within this same chapter God teaches us ways on how to not limit Him. In verse 5 and 6, the Lord instructs the children of Israel to tell their children of the wonders of God so that they would believe Him. David did this when his men turned on Him. He encouraged himself in the Lord. We encourage ourselves in the Lord when we remember how God has come through for us in the past.

When we glorify God, we begin to see Him for who He is. Once that is established, believing in Him becomes easier because we know our God is bigger than any problem we might be facing.
