Thank God for what Jesus did for us during Easter. As a result of Jesus’ actions, I can call God my Father, I can come boldly before His throne and expect a gush of love from my Father. With that truth firmly established in our hearts, we are to live that truth out in this world. In Hebrew 10:38a, it tells us how we ought to live this life. It states, “Now the just shall live by faith…” That is how we live in the post cross world, by faith. Faith in the word, faith in what Jesus did for us. Another verse that highlights this is 2 Corinthians 5:7, “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” These are just two of the many scriptures that emphasizes how to live out this life.
Living by faith is important because faith expects us to ignore our natural senses and believe a God who we can’t see and expect Him to do things that are naturally impossible. If a Christian decides to live by their senses (sight) they will never experience God’s best. God’s best demands we believe Him regardless of the circumstance and let Him prove Himself to us that He is in deed who says He is. He is the God of the impossible, the God of the miraculous, and the God of more than enough.
John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.””
This above verse explains why we must live by faith. Jesus tells us during tough times be happy because He overcame the world. What He means is that when we are going through tough times, Jesus is our way out. In financial troubles Jesus is the way out (Philippians 4:19). In marital troubles is the way out. One might ask what does ‘Jesus is the way out’ means. It simply means that Jesus has a plan for us to get out of that mess. The way we find out that plan is through the Comforter, Holy Spirit, that Jesus gave us when He went to Heaven. If Jesus doesn’t die on the cross, we will never have Holy Spirit. Because He did, Holy Spirit became one with us. And He will guide us through all troubles we will ever face. Living in the post cross world is living by Faith on what Jesus did on the cross and letting the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth.
